2.1 Log files
If you visit our website without buying anything, registering or similar, you can generally do so without revealing your identity. As with any website, our server automatically and temporarily collects and stores the following information in the server log files, which are transmitted by the browser, unless you have deactivated this:

Browser type/version
Operating system used by the requesting computer
Computer file request
the http response code
the previously visited page (referrer URL)
IP address of the requesting computer
Time of server request
The server log files are not evaluated on a personal basis. We cannot assign this data to specific people at any time. This data is not combined with other data sources, with the exception of the IP address being stored when you place an order in our online shop in connection with your order. This also applies when you use our newsletter.

2.2 Cookies, tracking, social media plugins
This website uses cookies. Cookies are used to make our service more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer and saved by your browser. Most browsers use cookies as standard. You can allow or prohibit temporary and saved cookies independently of each other in the security settings. If you deactivate cookies, certain features on our site may not be available to you. And some web pages may not be displayed correctly. We use both temporary cookies that are only valid for the duration of your visit to the WMF website and cookies that are saved and used on your computer for an indefinite period of time. You can delete the latter yourself at any time. Please follow the instructions in your browser's help function regarding the prevention and deletion of cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. The cookies do not contain any personal data and the information saved in them is not linked to your personal data (name, address, etc.). This is different when using our newsletter (see below).

This website uses the following categories of cookies:

Advertising and targeting cookies

These cookies are used to provide you with information that is relevant to your interests. They are also used to determine the frequency of a particular advert being displayed and the success of an advertising campaign. These are third-party cookies that are set with WMF's consent. The cookies store the fact that you have visited the website and are shared with other providers. Advertising and targeting cookies can be linked to the functionality of certain third-party content.

Necessary cookies

These are cookies that are necessary for using the website and enable you to fully use the content and functions offered, for example if you have to register and log in for certain areas of the website or for the provision of the shopping cart. Without these necessary cookies, you cannot use the services of our website.

Performance cookies

These cookies collect statistical information about the use of our website, such as which pages are visited most often and whether errors have occurred. These cookies do not collect any information that identifies you as a user. The information collected in the cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous to us. These cookies are only used to improve the performance of the website.

Functional cookies

These cookies allow settings that you have made for the display of the website (such as login, language, region, etc.) to be saved. These cookies do not contain any further information and cannot be read by third parties.

3. Purpose and legal basis of data processing

3.1 Visiting our website
If you visit our website without otherwise providing us with information about the functions we provide, we or our web host only collect the personal data that your browser sends to us. For this purpose, a log record (so-called server log file) is created on our web server, which contains the following data:

- the so-called referrer URL (the website from which our website was accessed)
- the name and URL of the requested page
- the date and time of your call
- the time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
- Your IP address (in shortened and therefore no longer personally identifiable form)
- the type, language and version of the web browser you use
- the operating system of your computer
- the amount of data transferred and
- the access status/HTTP status code (message whether the access was successful)

The legal basis for the collection of this data is Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter f of GDPR, whereby our legitimate interest lies in the provision of the website, the collection of this data for statistical purposes and the guarantee of the functionality, stability and security of our website.

Unless we are legally obliged or entitled to store your personal data collected during your visit to our website for a longer period, the server log files created will be deleted after seven days.

3.2 Processing of enquiries
If you contact us (e.g. via email or via a contact form provided on our website), we will process the data you provide for the purpose of answering and processing your request. If you contact us to initiate or execute a contract, the legal basis for this is Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter b of GDPR. If your request is not answered in the context of fulfilling contractual obligations, your request or its answer justifies our legitimate interest in processing your data. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter f of GDPR.

Unless we are legally obliged to retain your data for a longer period, we will only store your data collected during contact until your request has been fully processed and the purpose of storing your data no longer applies.

3.3 Processing of orders
If you want to place an order with us using the functions offered on our website, it is necessary that you provide all personal data that we need to conclude the contract with you and to process your order. Information that is absolutely necessary for this is marked as mandatory fields in the ordering process. All other information is voluntary. The legal basis for processing your mandatory information collected when ordering is Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter b of GDPR.

We may also use the data you provide when placing orders to send you information about similar goods or services from our range by post or email. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter f of GDPR, whereby the purpose of informing you about similar offers represents our legitimate interest.

Due to commercial and tax law requirements, we are obliged to store the data we collect from you when you place an order for up to ten years. After two years or after all warranty obligations or other contractual obligations (e.g. software updates) have expired, whichever comes last, we will restrict the processing of your data, i.e. your data will then only be stored to meet our statutory retention periods.

3.4 Use of our newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you agree that we may send you information about our offers from our product range. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter a of GDPR.

You can revoke your consent to receive our newsletter at any time with effect for the future. You can do this using the link included in each newsletter. Alternatively, you can send us your revocation using the other contact details and channels provided by us. Your revocation does not affect the legality of the processing of your data by us for the period up to the declaration of revocation.

4 Transfer of your data to third parties

4.1 Transfer of your data for payment processing
Depending on the payment method you choose, your data required to carry out and process the payment will be passed on to the relevant payment service provider. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter b of GDPR. In detail, the following applies:

In addition, PayPal's data protection provisions apply to payment processing via PayPal, which can be found at: https://www.paypal.com/de/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full?locale.x=de_DE.

In addition, we will pass your data on to IT service providers (e.g. email providers), dropshipping providers and other service providers or order processing for order processing where necessary. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 Para. 1 Clause 1 Letter b of GDPR.

5.5 Unless expressly stated otherwise, we only use transient, technically necessary cookies on our website. The legal basis for this is Section 25 Paragraph 2 TTDSG and Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter f GDPR, whereby our legitimate interest lies in ensuring the basic functions and security of our website.
