Homemade crispy fries from the hot air fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 large or 2 small reddish-brown potatoes, peeled or unpeeled
  • 1 tablespoon (15 milliliters) neutral oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 grams) corn starch or potato starch
  • 1 teaspoon (5 grams) kosher salt, plus more to taste

preparation

  • Step 1

    Cut the potato into ¼-inch sticks and immerse them in cold water for 30 minutes.

  • Step 2

    Drain the potatoes and dry thoroughly with paper towels. Place in a large bowl and toss with oil, cornstarch or potato starch, and kosher salt.

  • Step 3

    Select the preheat function on the air fryer, set the temperature to 190℃ and then press Start/Pause.

  • Step 4

    Place the sliced potatoes in the preheated air fryer.

  • Step 5

    Select the French fries function, set the time to 18 minutes and press Start/Pause.
